Military Aircraft ADS-B Mode-S 1090 MHz
Transponder Logs – October 2018
These pages are a list of military aircraft captured on a virtual radar screen system. It receives Mode-S / ADS-B transponder signals on 1090 MHz. The entries date all the way back to January 2014.
Last updated: 4th March 2024 at 07:00 GMT.
The 1090 MHz receiver is situated in the town of Stockport, Cheshire, UK. It is immediately north east of Manchester International Airport (ICAO code EGCC). The antenna is underneath the final approach into Manchester Airport over the town centre. It is a professional roof-mounted ADS-B ground plane collinear type, with three elements of half-wavelength in a fibreglass radome tube 55cm long, with an impressive range (pictured) of 150 miles radius for aircraft at cruising altitude.
Obviously, the vast majority of military transponders do not give latitude and longitude. Many only give altitude. The data is presented for your personal use only and must not be republished elsewhere. No warranty is expressed or implied.
The entries are ordered by ModeS hex code, then by date/time of each flight for that Mode-S code. Click on the Mode-S value on each row to visit a page with a list of all historical flights for that transponder. Note that a "flight" often consists of a single transponder signal with the same start and end time. This happens when an aircraft just crosses the far reaches of my antenna range. Note also that occasionally, aircraft emit the incorrect transponder code by accident. Military flights often use fake transponder codes to mask their operations.
As well as
all UK transponders on RAF, Royal Navy and Army Air Corps aircraft (plus
Ireland), you will also find
US,
Canada,
NATO,
French,
German,
Italian,
Belgian military and quite a few
other European countries too. You can even find those infamous
MI5 Islanders from RAF Northolt and a few U-2 spy planes. My radar has also tracked Thales Watchkeeper WK450 Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) drones during training.
All these special interest items are highlighted with a red background. I even provide logs of
UK and US "Spook" aircraft operating on behalf of MI5, US Special Operations, etc.
